Czech Maps

Excuse me for not speaking Czech. I am from Holland and want to visit your beautiful country at the end of Januari. I want to do some GeoCaching also, and I am looking for maps of the area Riesengebirchte/Liberec.

Normaly in Holland I use Ozi Explorer.

Is there someone who can tell me where to find Ozi Explorer maps for the area Riesengebirchte/Liberec

Thanks in advange for your answers, Theo

there are 1:50000 and 1:75000 maps of krkonoše (reisengebirge) scanned from the paper. map of the český ráj is also useful when you plan to visit liberec. unfortunately you will not find liberec on this map. it’s located few kilometers to the north of the top edge of the map. there is also a note in czech at the bottom of the page: you need to work with a registered (trial) ozi version because free (shareware) version can’t use S-42 grid and more than three calibration points.

i will try to look further

enjoy your vacation and don’t hesitate to ask

You can legally buy czech maps for ozi from an internet shop, let us know if you wish and someone will paste the URL here..

you can also use maps from this site (click on “cachemapa”), Liberec is on the north of Czech Republic.

You can see the location of the caches there and print the maps.

Yes thats what I, want, legally buy the czech maps, but the problem is, I don’t understand much from an internet shop when it’s only in the Czech Language. But I’ll give it a try, please give me the link for the shop, and maybe an advise which cards are the best to buy.

02 jizerské hory, frýdlantsko

i think you should write them an e-mail and pay with a bank transfer as they don’t seem to be accepting online payments. you should also ask them to send the map by e-mail because they usually send ozi maps burned on a cd.

Thanks all for your answers, I have downloaded the 1:200.00 roadmaps of Czechie (scanned from the paper) and I have sent an E-mail to 02 jizerské hory, frýdlantsko.
Thanks again, you helped me a lot, and I think I am going to enjoy very much the visit to our country in winter and also next summer in July.

… and those are also quite well mapped areas in a free topomap for garmin. it also has been converted into magellan format recently. by the way have i made you confused with the link to jizerské hory or everything is in order (jizerské hory = isergebirge, frýdlant = friedland)?

I have seen the maps from gps-maps.info but I don’t use a Garmin. I only Geocache with OZI Explorer. I know the Garmin format can be converted to OZI but the other maps mentioned in this thread (http://www.skyfly.cz/gpspraxe/mapy.htm) are already for OZI and I am very glad with them.
And No, no confusion at all. I Just did’nt think about it. The link worked thats all.

great
